As of the 1st of November, the Curaçao Gaming Control Board (GCB) will begin processing sub-licence registration applications.
The full process of validating and approving registration by the GCB is expected to take approximately 15 days.
Verification process
The sub-licence registration on the GCB portal includes five essential steps: registration, managing accounts, handling licences, operating a ticket system, and developing gaming applications.
Once an account is fully verified, a letter of authorization from the GCB will be granted to the entity, alongside a dedicated email provided by Curaçao’s Gambling Board. This secures full and final ownership of a registered company.
Should additional documentation be required by GCB officials, applicants will have up to six months to provide the necessary paperwork.
Why implement this new system now?
The push for comprehensive sub-licence registration is driven by the new National Ordinance for Games of Chance (LOK) , set to take effect soon. LOK aims to introduce stricter controls, capable of suspending or revoking licences, thereby setting the stage for new regulatory authorities.
